“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
Psalm 42:1-2 (NIV)
God desires a relationship with each of us and offers this relationship through his grace. We live a life of piety as we seek to develop our relationship with God. We simply give our hearts to God.
As with any relationship, a relationship with God demands an investment of time, commitment, and work. The following disciplines help to strengthen this relationship:
- Prayer
- Worship
- Searching Scripture
- Holy Communion
- Meditation
A deep relationship with God becomes the root relationship from which all other relationships will grow and bear fruit.
